I once had this idea. I was going to create a small discussion forum that would live within the pages of my blog, and it would provide a modest space wherein people could interact beyond the limited confines of the comment stream under each blog post. Somewhere along the line, the idea became more complex and ambitious. There was (and sort of still is, for the time being) a small forum hosted on the Invision platform/servers that was intended to mutate into a full-fledged forum hosted on a subdomain of justshootme.ca. I have been thinking.  This is the kind of thing that typically gets me into trouble.  One of the things that I have wanted to do is to engage more with people both online and offline.  I’m almost always more of a voyeur than a participant when it comes to online relationships.  So … I’m going to try to make a small change.  I am in the process of installing and configuring a small forum that will be implemented as a new page on my blog.

Without going into too much detail as to the whys of creating a mini-forum, suffice it to say that this is – I hope – going to be a better way to engage with the (chosen?) few who stop by to read my blog and check out my photos.  As to the hows, those are a different story.  There will eventually be a link in the column on the right that will allow you to register and logon to the new forum.

Who knows … maybe in a few months, I will get tired of this idea and remove the forum completely.  On the other hand, it may stay up forever.  I’m sure that the experience will in any event prove at least to be interesting.
